Venn was a rescued from a travellers site by the dog warden at 1 year old. He was initially very timid and withdrawn but he soon gained his confidence and became a loving companion. Venn was very easy going and calm, but could run like the wind. He took everything in his stride but was a bit quirky at times - he loved fireworks! Venn was with us until the ripe old age of 16.
Sadie the Collie X
Sadie was a rescue from the Blue Cross and was their longest resident at the time. She had had at least 4 homes by 6 yrs old and had had no training and been allowed to roam by her previous owners. She was neurotic in the car, attacked all other dogs on sight, threw herself at the windows at home etc.
We were up for a challenge, as I had just completed a dog psychology course, and she tested us well! But gradually we got on top of her problems or learned to manage them and she became contented and settled, teaching us a huge amount about dog behaviour along the way.
Ted the German Shepherd
Ted was a huge strong longhaired German Shepherd who enjoyed training and loved agility, taking part in several demos at shows and fetes. He loved football and would take his favourite ball on all his walks, carrying it for miles. Sadly we lost Ted aged 6 due to a suspected brain tumour. We were heart-broken to lose him at such a young age.
